Late last night, Facebook, Instagram, Threads and Meta Quest users experienced login failures. On Facebook, users are instructed to log in again, but all efforts are in vain. This caused everyone to panic thinking their accounts have been hacked.
Since all sites except WhatsApp are down, Meta ironically uses X to confirm their service is down. Meta's head of communications, Andy Stone initially confirmed there was a problem, and they were working on it as soon as possible. Reportedly, this issue is due to an unspecified technical issue.

Moreover, it is still unknown why WhatsApp is the only platform that works fine when other applications are having problems. All Meta services resumed service two hours after the problem was reported. The failure of Meta's social media platform has become something for Elon Musk and Meta to joke about.
