Last September, Instagram activated the Teen Account feature, which puts various safety features specifically for teenage users under the age of 16. This morning, Meta announced that this feature has also been activated on the Facebook and Messenger apps. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, Teen Account places restrictions such as not being able to be contacted by unknown people and preventing the display of obscene messages that may be sent to the DM box. In addition, time usage control in the application can also be done by parents and guardians. This is similar to Instagram’s current practice.
Additionally, Teen Account users on Instagram cannot go Live or turn off content restrictions without permission from parents and guardians. The new feature is available to users in the US, UK, Australia and Canada first before rolling out to other countries
