According to The Information, Meta might revive its plan to release its smartwatch, Malibu 2, in 2026. That said, what should you know about it?

 

Meta will compete against a lot of brands in the market

For your information, the original project was discontinued around 2022. When it launches, the Malibu 2 will have health tracking capabilities and support for the Meta AI virtual assistant. The smartwatch market is still dominated by the Apple Watch, and Meta is entering a market that is now filled with various smartwatch models.

Moreover, the device could feature an IMR sensor, allowing for control like the Meta Neural Band bracelet sold with the Meta Ray-Ban Display. Last year, Meta sold over 7 million pairs of smart glasses through its Ray-Ban and Oakley collaboration. This is more than the combined sales of 2024 and 2023.
