Previously, the broadcast feature is exclusive to WhatsApp. But that won’t stay for long, Meta is aiming to bring the same feature to Messenger and Facebook soon. That said, what should you know about it?

For your information, the “Broadcast Channel” feature is mainly inspired by Telegram. If you have been around the Internet for a while, this might not come as a surprise to you. After all, Meta did adopt the Snapchat “Stories” feature on Instagram and WhatsApp.

In addition, if you are handling a Facebook page, you can start broadcast channels "as a way to engage more deeply with your followers". To put it simply, the broadcast channel feature is a “one-to-many” messaging tool. This feature is great public figures, celebrities, and online "creators".

In case you didn’t know, the channel broadcast feature for Facebook and Messenger will have the same mechanics as the existing ones on WhatsApp and Instagram. If you join a channel, your follower will be notified about it. If you are an admin, you can send messages, start polls and so forth. On the other hand, your followers can only read or react to the poll.
