ChatGPT will no longer be available via WhatsApp after January 15, 2026. This was revealed by OpenAI through an official tweet on X (formerly Twitter), which also explained the reason for the termination. That said, what should you know about it?

No more support on WhatsApp

For your information, Meta has changed its third-party integration policy, and as a result, the 1-800-ChatGPT number will no longer be supported on the WhatsApp platform after that date.

While this change may affect how some users interact with ChatGPT, there are still other, easier and more complete alternatives to continue accessing the service.

For example, users can download the ChatGPT app on iOS, Android, Windows or Mac for a simple and convenient experience. ChatGPT can also be accessed via the official website on any browser and is available built-in for Microsoft Edge users.

It only lasted about 2 years

Thanks to the official platform, you will also get additional features such as chat history, voice mode, and file support. For the record, ChatGPT support via WhatsApp has been introduced since 2024.

Through it, you can make voice calls to a dedicated line using WhatsApp as well as send messages and receive feedback directly from ChatGPT.
