When you download apps on your phone, you either use the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. But did you know that there are similar stores for Windows PCs? The one that we all have is the Microsoft Store, and it's now getting expanded with third-party app stores.

According to the announcement, Microsoft is starting to allow third-party stores to put their apps on the Microsoft Store. The first ones joining are Amazon and Epic Games Store (in a few months), which you can access once you download the app. Note that this doesn't mean that the apps from these stores would be directly available on the Microsoft Store.

Microsoft will officially launch the upgraded Microsoft Store on 5 October 2021 with Windows 11. It's a great move that should benefit smaller platforms that are not as well-known. But it's hard to say if this is useful for bigger platforms like Amazon, Epic Games Store, and Steam.

Do you use the Microsoft Store to look for specific apps? Also, what do you think about the integration of third-party platforms to the Microsoft Store? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
