When it comes to laptops, Microsoft has some excellent compact models that come with detachable screens. This includes models like the Surface Book 3, which was launched here in June 2020. However, the company might be switching tracks for this year's model of the Surface Book series.

According to Windows Central (via Wccftech), Microsoft might name the new model as Surface Laptop Pro or Surface Laptop Studio. Moreover, the company could be looking to ditch the detachable display for this model. It should also be retaining the 13.5-inch or 15-inch PixelSense display, but feature a larger trackpad.

Besides that, the transition to a regular clamshell display could result in other changes. Specifically, the source suggests that Microsoft could go for higher refresh rates for the display, as well as a more powerful Nvidia GeForce RTX GPU. There's also a chance that Microsoft would release a new Microsoft Surface Pen with haptic feedback.

Microsoft seems to be taking its time with the new model. But since leaks are starting to appear, this so-called Surface Laptop Pro could still launch within 2021.
