In Microsoft's recent "small gathering" the company went on to reveal the largest Surface tablet to date with the official announcement of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablet. While we thought the "small gathering" hint was pointing at a Surface Mini tablet it was in fact about the Surface Pro 3, which is probably the thinnest tablet in the Surface range. Going for a magnesium casing like the Surface Pro 2, this super thin tablet features a 12-inch display but is 100g lighter than the Surface Pro 2. The bigger screen has a resolution of 2160 x 1440 resulting in 216ppi pixel density.

Other tech specs and features include an Intel Core i7 processor, HD 4400 graphics, 8GB RAM and 64GB to 512GB storage. You can opt for the more affordable Intel Core i3 or i5 processors if you want. The tablet is thin and nearly silent thanks to fanless cooling design with up to 9 hours battery life on a single charge. The accessories have also received an upgrade as the Surface Pro 3 comes with a Surface Pen stylus while the Type Cover detachable keyboard dock has a larger touchpad.

Pricing for the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is set at $799 (RM2572) for the Intel Core i3 version with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, $1299 (RM4182) for the Core i5 version with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage while the Core i7 version will come in at $1549 (RM4987) for 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage or $1949 (RM6274) with 512GB of storage. No specific Malaysia release dates or pricing just yet but it is expected in August 2014. For now, check out the videos of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 below:
