Microsoft introduces Copilot for Gaming as an AI assistant for players

Copilot is one of the highlight features that computer brands try to market these days, and it looks like Microsoft is trying to bring it to gaming as well. A few hours ago, a presentation on Copilot for Gaming was posted on YouTube, and this is what you should know about it.

As the name suggests, Copilot will be making its way to gaming, but what exactly does it do? From the presentation, it is an AI-powered assistant to help players get better in their favourite games. This includes giving tips, guides and useful information while gaming. At the same time, it can also help gamers to download and launch games automatically (lol).

Giving more examples from the video, one part was Copilot for Gaming recommending a hero for Overwatch 2 that can complement the team. Then in another part, it shows the AI assistant answering questions about Minecraft building and even enabling cheats, with the bot telling where to find crafting materials. At the moment, there are only demonstration videos but nothing practical for testing yet.

Copilot for Gaming will be coming as a feature for the Xbox mobile app, but it will be enabled to see your game screen from there. It's also interesting to note that none of the tasks that they mentioned will be available at launch. Xbox Insider members will get a first hands-on experience with Copilot for Gaming in April, where Microsoft can get user feedback to refine it further.

AI for gaming is nothing new as ASUS ROG implemented that on the ROG Phone 8 (read our review here) first. While useful, we think it's much faster to just do it ourselves because we know what to look for. Anyway, we shall wait and see how it turns out, so stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
