If your phone is running on Windows Phone 8.1, chances are you might want to update it to Windows 10 Mobile. ASAP. Microsoft has confirmed that they are preparing to shut down the app store entirely in mid-December.

Back in July 2017, Microsoft had stopped updating the Windows Phone 8.1, meaning phones running the OS have not been receiving software updates since then. Now, starting on the 16th of December, Windows 8.1 users will not be able to download any app or receive updates for them. Yes, you will not even be able to reinstall the app.

As of right now, there are 17 Windows smartphones that can be updated to Windows 10 Mobile. However, official support for that OS will be ending soon as well but the good news is, the app store will continue to work. So is this news enough to make you get rid of your Windows devices or will you keep it for nostalgia’s sake? Keep up with the latest Windows news on TechNave.com!
