Microsoft recently launched Mico, an avatar for its AI digital assistant Copilot. So, what should you know about it?

A more “human" AI

According to Microsoft, Mico (named after "Microsoft Copilot") is designed to offer a friendly and customisable visual presence. It listens, reacts, and can even change colour to reflect user interaction, making voice conversations feel more natural.

Moreover, if this talking AI assistant reminds many of Clippy, it seems Microsoft itself isn't denying the nostalgia. There's an "easter egg" where if Mico is pressed a few times, it will turn into Clippy.

For now, Mico is only being launched in the United States at an early stage, with the ability to store conversation memories and learn from user feedback.

Additionally, the introduction of Mico is also part of the launch of the Copilot Fall Release, which marks Microsoft's next step in bringing AI closer to users' daily experiences.
