Microsoft might have an extreme way in its pocket to prevent users from installing Windows 11 on unsupported machines. According to the latest information, the tech giant might use a permanent watermark to warn those who install the operating system (OS) on devices that don't meet the system requirements.

Spotted by Windows Latest, the watermark that shows a message 'system requirements not met' placed above the taskbar (near the time) is in testing. If you find it familiar, it's basically another version of the watermark that some of you might have seen before for not activating the OS.

Microsoft has stated that it'll not offer any updates to the OS installed on unsupported machines. Therefore, this could be a quick and straightforward method to stop the users from thinking about installing it from the beginning. Who wants an annoying watermark that sticks on their desktop forever anyway? However, it's worth mentioning that it's only spotted in the test builds, but there's still a high chance it will make it to the official rollout.
