Microsoft Malaysia has refreshed its Microsoft 365 cloud storage plans in Malaysia to include a new ‘Basic’ tier at only RM9 per month or at a cheaper price of RM90 per year if you opt for an annual subscription. Previously known as the OneDrive Standalone 100GB plan, Microsoft 365 Basic offers new premium features, including ad-free Outlook and mobile email.

According to Microsoft’s official Malaysian website, the 365 Basic plan offers the same 100GB cloud storage as the OneDrive 100GB plan but includes these other benefits:

  • Works on Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android
  • Web and mobile versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive, and more
  • Ad-free Outlook and mobile email and calendar with advanced security features
  • Access to Microsoft support experts

However, do note that the subscription plan is only available for individual use and that it doesn’t come with access to premium desktop versions of popular Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote. Access to the aforementioned desktop apps is available in the 365 Personal tier and above.

Users of the OneDrive 100GB Standalone plan automatically transitioned to the 365 Basic plan starting yesterday. Accordingly, the OneDrive plan is now no longer available for purchase.
