Today, Microsoft announced that the new Bing is now in open preview and no longer has a waitlist. With this, more people will get to experience the AI-powered Bing and there are other updates too coming from the company. This includes opening up the platform to developers and third parties, and many more.

There are a few new updates that Microsoft announced. This includes making the search engine more visual and richer by including charts and graphs and updated formatting of answers. The Image Creator will be expanded to more than 100 languages in Bing whereby you can create images in your native language. By incorporating visual search in chat, you will be able to upload images and search the web for related content.

Microsoft also said two of the most requested features are maintaining access to your chat history and enabling it to share and export. So that will allow you to pick up where you left off and return to previous chats in Bing chat with chat history. In the near future, Microsoft will also be adding export and share functionalities into chat.

To make Chat in Microsoft Edge easier to consume dense online content, the company plans to improve the summarization capabilities for long documents, including PDFs and longer-form websites. Edge actions will be available in the coming weeks too. For example, if you want to watch a particular movie, actions in Edge will find and show you options in chat in the sidebar and then play the movie you want from where it’s available.

Moreover, Microsoft will also soon build third-party plug-ins into the Bing chat experience. This will create a platform for developers which can allow them to build on top of Bing to help users take action on their queries. For example, if you’re researching the latest restaurant for dinner in Bing chat, it will leverage OpenTable to help you find and book a reservation.
