It feels like the OLED iPads are getting more realistic with this new information. According to the source, there are already three display manufacturers gearing up for the production of the OLED displays to be supplied to Apple.

Previously, we had already seen reports saying that Samsung and LG would be the companies joining the supply chain. Last month, Samsung was rumoured to be developing a more advanced form of OLED panel that doubles the brightness and boosts longevity, which is suspected to be the display for the first OLED iPad in 2024.

Now, Korean media outlet The Elec reports that Chinese display maker BOE has also joined the party. The manufacturer is said to be currently preparing its own next-gen OLED production plans in readiness for an iPad launch in 2024. It's reported that BOE is planning to build a Gen 8.6 (2250x2600mm) IT OLED panel production line at its B16 factory in Chengdu in Sichuan Province, China, with a production capacity of 15,000 substrates per month and start production near the end of 2024.

Although there's still some time to go, it might be good news to some die-hard Apple fans as the company might finally prepare to launch an OLED iPad that year. What do you think about the report? Leave a comment to let us know your opinion, and stay tuned to TechNave.com for the latest tech report.
