The APAC HUAWEI Developer Day 2019 was held last Wednesday in Singapore. At the event, HUAWEI shared its vision of building an open ecosystem with over 150 of its industry partners. It was a global stage for HUAWEI to showcase what they are capable of.

HUAWEI is making moves on enhancing its ecosystem by integrating HUAWEI Mobile Service (HMS) into its core. The progression of HMS was shared during the event, which has now serves more than 570 million global users in over 170 countries to date. In APAC markets, HMS currently provides a variety of services such as HUAWEI ID, Mobile Cloud, HUAWEI AppGallery, Themes, HUAWEI Music and HUAWEI Assistant.

After being caught up with the trade war issue, the company’s backup plan which is HMS has started to thrive. A total of 24 HMS Core kits, 55 services, and 997 APIs were announced at the event. They will be available in APAC markets by 2020. Among the new HMS Core services are Map Kit, Location Kit, Awareness Kit, Scan Kit, Quick App and more.

Apart from that, HUAWEI was also promoting its cloud storage by offering the HMS users in APAC a free 5GB of storage of HUAWEI Mobile Cloud. There is also another promotion which is going to be starting from 20 November until 31 December 2019. HMS users will be getting a 50GB of storage at a special rate depending on their countries’ currencies. For Malaysia, it is only RM0.10 (yep, only 10 sen!) for a month.

With this information, we can know that HUAWEI is really focused when it comes to offering users a great experience with HMS. We can’t wait to see more updates from HMS with this effort going on. For more updates, stay tuned on TechNave.com.
