Motorola have been teasing their new smartphone flagship for a while now and finally, we got to see the unveiling of the Moto Edge and Moto Edge+. Most of the rumours match the official tech specs, design and features, they look really nice but don't expect them to enter Malaysia officially anytime soon (or ever). Anyway, here's what we know about the new Motorola phones.

Starting with the Moto Edge+, this 6.7-inch HDR10+ AMOLED phone features a Snapdragon 865 chipset as expected and can support up to 90Hz refresh rate. The memory capacity is high-end as well, using 12GB LPDDR5 RAM + 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. The battery is huge, packing 5000mAh and supporting 18W fast charging technology via USB-C. It also supports wireless charging (15W) and reverse charging (5W).

Like most new phones nowadays, the Moto Edge+ comes with a quad rear camera. It comprises a 108MP main wide-angle + 8MP telephoto + 16MP ultrawide + ToF 3D sensor, whereas the front camera is 25MP. The vanilla Moto Edge also has a quad rear camera, but the only difference is using a 64MP main wide-angle camera.

Speaking of the Moto Edge, it also has the same 6.7-inch AMOLED display and 90Hz refresh rate but minus the HDR10+ quality. The rest of the tech specs are mid-range tier, using a Snapdragon 765G chipset, 4GB of RAM (US versioN), 6GB of RAM (global), 128GB internal storage (with microSD support, which the Edge+ does not have). Finally, the battery is 4500mAh and retains the 18W fast charging technology, but doesn't support any wireless charging.

In terms of pricing, the Moto Edge+ is set to be launched in May at €1199 (~RM5646) while the Edge is €599 (~RM2820). Oh my, that's such a huge difference! As aforementioned, we won't likely see the new Moto Edge series in Malaysia since Motorola Malaysia is no more (#sadpanda). But what do you think?
