Motorola Moto G22 release: 90Hz display and 50MP quad camera setup starting from ~RM789

Motorola has officially unveiled the Moto G22 in the European market, the latest smartphone release from the tech company for the budget segment that is priced from €169.99 (~RM789). Announced yesterday (3 March 2022), the Moto G22 is available in either a 4GB + 64GB or 4GB + 128GB configuration and supports up to 1TB of expandable storage.

Under the hood, the device is powered by a MediaTek Helio G37 chipset and packs a 5000mAh battery which Motorola claims can last up to 37.8 hours of use. The battery also supports up to 15W of fast charging.

In terms of cameras, the G22 has a quadruple camera system at its rear. The 50MP primary lens supports Quad-Pixel technology and its sensor is said to deliver 12.5MP images. It will be assisted by an 8MP ultra-wide lens and two 2MP sensors.

The G22 also features a 6.5-inch Max Vision display that has a refresh rate of 90Hz as well as an HD+ resolution. The display is also a punch-hole panel that has narrow bezels on all sides, except for the bottom bezel which is quite thick.

Other notable features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, Android 12 OS out of the box, USB Type-C and a fingerprint scanner on its side. Overall, this looks like a pretty solid budget offering from Motorola.
