There’s a new kid on the business phone block and its name is the Motorola Pro+, which runs the world’s most popular operating system – Android – and features both a full QWERTY keyboard and a decent sized touchscreen.

Motorola Pro+: Display

Of the three business phone contenders mentioned above, the Motorola Pro+ has by far the biggest screen, measuring 3.2-inches across. That’s impressive considering the keyboard below, and while it makes the Pro+ a little larger than its rivals, you’ll be glad of the extra screen space when it comes to browsing the web or editing documents.

Motorola Pro+: Keyboard

The Motorola Pro+ is a business candybar handset in the classical style, which means a full QWERTY keyboard right at your fingertips. With a touchscreen sat above, you really do have the best of both worlds from an interface point of view.

Motorola Pro+: Processor & Memory

The Motorola Pro+ has been detailed with a 1GHz processor which should keep things ticking over nicely, especially with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage to back it up with. That last point means plenty of space for your documents and the like, and you can always add more via microSD card if you run out.

Motorola Pro+: OS

Android isn’t particularly well known as a business OS, but that’s more to do with handset manufacturers than any limitations in the platform itself. The lure of hundreds of thousands of apps lurking in the Android Market is particularly appealing.

Motorola Pro+: Extras

Even a business phone needs some time off now and again, and the Motorola certainly delivers enough extras on the side of its main business phone credentials to keep you happy. That includes the likes of a 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash, autofocus and geotagging. And as we mentioned above, there are a fair few apps on the Android Market to keep you occupied. On top of that, Android’s presence means a whole whack of other Google software baked right in, including Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk and the Quickoffice document viewer and editor.

Conclusion:

Overall, since the specs and design are somewhat average, we expect this to be a budget based smartphone. This would be great for those looking for a great deal on a new Android handset or someone looking to get their first Android phone.
