Multiple new Sony products in CES 2016

Sony Corporation revealed many new products during CES 2016 planned for this year, the products revealed by Sony Electronics (SEL) President and COO Michael Fasulo were the X93D series of BRAVIA 4K LCD TV, new Sony audio products, three new camcorder series, and two new Life Space UX products which can be found below.

X93D of 4K BRAVIA series

As Sony continues to emphasize on high quality, realistic and immersive visuals, they have brought forth a new next-generation TV that combines 4K picture and HDR together. Introducing the new X93D, it features Sony’s brand new Slim Backlight Drive that drives image quality to the highest possible in 4K view providing brighter highlights, deeper blacks, and more brilliant colours. What’s more, it’s design is slim which saves a lot of space and looks like a moving picture hanging on a wall. 

 

h.ear and XB series

Next, the three new products from h.ear series - h.ear go, h.ear on, and h.ear in are equipped with Hi-Res audio technology; the h.ear go is a portable wireless speaker, while the h.ear on and h.ear in are wireless headphones that complement the wired headsets previously released. 

Aside from that, new EXTRA BASS (XB) products are also available - the MDR-XB650BT headphones, SRS-XB3 and SRS-XB2 wireless speakers, and GTK-XB7 high power audio system. Sony will continue to expand these lineups further, in order to meet the needs of music lovers around the world, who have increasingly diverse listening styles and musical tastes.


Digital Imaging

The new FDR-AXP55, FDR-AX53 4K Handycam camcorder, are equipped with equipped with a new 20x optical zoom ZEISS lens as well as a high-sensitivity image sensor with pixel size approximately 1.6 times greater than in the current 4K Handycam model.  Balanced Optical SteadyShot technology is also available, along with a new Fast Intelligent AF and a new microphone that captures high stereo sounds. Similarly, the new HDR-PJ675 and HDR-CX450 HD Handycam also possesses the same technology. 

As for shooting videos, the HDR-AS50R will come packaged with the Live-View Remote. The remote gives the user total control over the Action Cam from a distance anywhere from sports, recreational activities and even underwater up to 60 meters below the surface. 

 

Life Space UX

Finally, Sony will also be launching the 10cm cubic Portable Ultra Short Throw Projector. Equipped with internal speakers and battery, the compact projector is capable of showing a 22-inch to 80-inch image onto walls, tables, or any other adjacent surface. Not to forget the Glass Sound Speaker, a product that can fill every corner of the room with crystal clear sound through its tube-shaped organic glass that envelops the LED source, and able to light up any interior environment with a beautiful warm glow. 

Both the Portable Ultra Short Throw Projector and the Glass Sound Speaker will launch in Japan first during spring and in the US in the first half of this year.
