Starting 1 February 2026, MyJPJ — the official app of Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan Malaysia (JPJ) — will adopt MyDigital ID as the only login method for users aged 18 and above. This replaces the current login system that relies on a 12?digit IC number and password. However, users under 18 and holders of MyPR cards will continue using the existing login method.
What This Means for Users
As of late November 2025, JPJ reports that the MyJPJ app has been downloaded or registered by approximately 13?million users. Among them, 1.3?million are already using MyDigital ID to access the app. The remaining users will need to undergo a one?time registration process — including a facial?recognition pre?registration — to switch to MyDigital ID.
By adopting MyDigital ID, JPJ aims to reduce the risk of unauthorised access and fake accounts while aligning with broader government digital identity initiatives.
Why the Change is Happening

MyDigital ID is a nationwide identity solution designed to streamline login and verification for government and public services. Instead of managing separate usernames, passwords or identity credentials across many platforms, MyDigital ID provides a unified, secure, and government?certified digital identity.
For MyJPJ, linking the app to MyDigital ID enhances account security and makes it harder for unauthorised or fake accounts to persist. It also supports JPJ’s broader digitalisation effort to provide secure, efficient and accessible services for Malaysians.
What Users Should Do to Prepare
If you are a MyJPJ user aged 18 or older, you’ll need to install the MyDigital ID app (available on Google Play, Apple App Store, or Huawei AppGallery) and complete the pre?registration with facial verification before 1 February 2026, if you wish to continue using the MyJPJ app.
Those who already use MyDigital ID can continue as normal. Users under 18 or with MyPR cards can continue using the existing login method. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
