My E.G. Services Bhd (MyEG) yesterday launched the ‘Compare by MyEG x NFT Pangolin’ initiative which would give users free commemorative customisable non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to users of its ‘Compare by MyEG’ service. The company hopes that the initiative can help promote the use of NFTs and make it more accessible to everyone.

In a statement, MyEG executive chairman Datuk Dr Norraesah Mohamad asserted that the company is committed to fostering the application of NFTs among the public. With this new initiative, MyEG can introduce NFT and its benefits to the company’s user base.

National news agency Bernama reported that MyEG will be giving away the ready-made, free and customisable NFTs for a limited time with no additional costs involved for minting. Speaking of which, the NFT will be minted on Zetrix’s Layer 1 blockchain on the global marketplace NFT Pangolin.

In order to be eligible for the free NFT, users must first compare and renew their car insurance and road tax via Compare by MyEG. Then, users will need to follow the simple steps provided to redeem and personalise their complimentary NFTs.

MYEG said the NFT’s customisable text field allows users to inscribe personalised messages. The messages can then be passed on to the next generation, such as Generation Alpha, when advanced digital assets would be prevalent.
