Deputy Health Minister Lukanisman Awang Sauni has announced that the government intends to turn MySejahtera into a digital public health super app. Moreover, in line with the national health service digitalisation plan, the app would become the national public health management tool.

According to Bernama, Lukanisman clarified that MySejahtera would be used as big data with all health-related information used as a guide in determining Malaysia’s health direction. As such encompasses budget provision, best health services and facilitating the people.

Besides that, the government also intends to use the data on MySejahtera plus information from the Ministry of Health (MOH) to identify those who are eligible to receive the Madani Medical Scheme. The latter was among the welfare initiatives announced by the Unity Government in Budget 2023.

The Deputy Health Minister asserted that the app would be used for vaccination records under the National Immunisation Programme, non-communicable disease screening for individuals aged 40 years and above, registration for organ donation, blood type records and appointment for health screening. Furthermore, MySejahtera would also be used for surveillance of infectious diseases such as:

  • Tuberculosis
  • Dengue
  • Measles
  • Rabies
  • Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD)
