Myvi Conversion: Perodua could launch its first EV next year

Perodua recently released its first electric vehicle (EV) prototype, the Myvi Conversion at the Malaysian Auto Show 2024. Perodua is expected to launch its first electric vehicle no later than next year with a price that will not exceed RM100,000 and will not be less than RM50,000. That said, what should you know about it?

In addition, the Myvi has been modified in terms of power platform and power converter. The entire shape and design was completed in Malaysia and the power conversion technology was developed in collaboration with an Australian company. This technology was developed in collaboration with three local universities namely Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Kuala Lumpur and Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Furthermore, this inter-university collaboration which starts in September 2022 is to develop electric vehicle powertrains from scratch. It is a process that will increase the expertise and capabilities of all parties in the field of electric vehicles.
