After weeks of speculation, NVIDIA finally unveiled its latest RTX 50-series GPUs at CES 2025 today. There are four models to the RTX Blackwell GPU lineup - the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070. The RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 are coming on 30 January 2025 for $1,999 (~RM8.9k) and $999 (~RM4.5k), respectively, while the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5070 will launch in February for $749 (~RM3.4k) and $549 (~RM2.5k), respectively.

According to NVIDIA, the RTX 5090 is twice the speed of the RTX 4090, utilising 32GB of GDDR7 with a memory bandwidth of 1,792GB/s and 21,760 CUDA cores. With the DLSS 4 and Blackwell architecture, it has a total graphics power of 575 watts and a recommended PSU requirement of 1000 watts. The RTX 5080 is also two times faster than the RTX 4080 with 16GB of GDDR7 memory, a memory bandwidth of 960GB/sec, and 10,752 CUDA cores.

On the other hand, the RTX 5070 Ti also has the same 16GB of GDDR7 memory but with a slightly lesser memory bandwidth of 896GB/s, and 8,960 CUDA cores. Meanwhile, the RTX 5070 sports 12GB of GDDR7, a memory bandwidth of 672 GB/sec, and 6,144 CUDA cores. During the presentation, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang even remarked that the RTX 5070's performance is "comparable" to the RTX 4090.

The RTX 50-series will also be coming to laptops in March 2025 with lower memory as listed below:

  • RTX 5090 - 24GB of GDDR7 memory
  • RTX 5080 - 16GB of GDDR7 memory
  • RTX 5070 Ti - 12GB of GDDR7 memory
  • RTX 5070 - 8GB of GDDR7 memory
