Netflix is once again raising its subscription prices in the United States after last doing so in January 2025. So, what should you know about it?
A price change was made to improve your experience
For your information, subscription prices are up USD1 (~RM4) on the most basic ad-supported plan, while Standard and Premium plans are up USD2 (~RM8). Netflix said the price update was done to allow it to reinvest in quality entertainment and improve the customer experience.
- Mobile: RM 18.90 per month
- Basic: RM 29.90 per month
- Standard: RM 49.90 per month (additional members RM13 per person/month)
- Premium RM 62.90 per month (additional member RM13 per person/month)
Moreover, the price increase comes at a time when the Middle East crisis has caused fuel and necessities prices to skyrocket. It also comes about a month after Netflix pulled out of its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery and received a $2 billion settlement.
It is not yet known whether subscriptions in other countries will also be available. The last time the subscription price in Malaysia was increased was in November 2024. The current subscription price in Malaysia is as follows.
