Video streaming makes it easy to watch content anywhere without the need to purchase physical media. According to a report from JustWatch via Amanz, Netflix and Viu are the two most popular paid video streaming platforms in Malaysia in Q2 2024. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, Netflix is on top with a 28% market share followed by Viu (23%), Disney+ Hotstar (15%), iFlix (14%), Prime Video (7%), HBO GO (4%) and others (9%). According to JustWatch again Netflix and Viu showed growth in subscriber numbers. Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar and iFlix did the opposite. HBO GO was also flat.
We have yet to confirm other details on the trend. So, it should be interesting to see if the trend will change or stay shortly. Interestingly, we could see more streaming services arriving in Malaysia soon.
