If you frequently use Netflix, you might know the streaming company has raised its subscription prices recently. However, a rumour suggests Netflix could raise its price, again. That said, what should you know about it?

For your information, we might see another price hike soon. According to UBS, a Swiss finance company, Netflix could raise its price due to the “shifting entertainment ecosystem”. This could be attributed to the rise in viewership from the American audience. The total viewership has raised from 7.7% to 7.9%.

In addition, this led to businesses cutting their production spending and placing more emphasis on “content licensing” The same applies to Netflix too. If everything goes smoothly, Netflix could raise the company’s total revenue by 15 per cent. That includes income ad-supported tier and subscriber growth.

Moreover, Netflix already has a wide library of movies, documentaries and shows. Plus, the company has added video games into its fray. That places Netflix in a prime position to benefit from the shifting entertainment ecosystem. Thanks to this confidence, the company might feel it’s okay to raise subscription prices again.

We have yet to confirm other details. One thing for sure, Malaysians will be more affected if this becomes a reality. After all, the Ringgit Malaysia (RM) is not faring well currently. Hopefully, this will change soon.
