As we’ve reported previously, Netflix is launching an ad-supported subscription tier this month and today, it is already live in certain parts of the world. However, there are some technical difficulties with its launch, whereby those that subscribe to the plan could not access it if they’re using Apple TV.

As reported by Variety, a Netflix rep confirmed that “Basic with ads plan support on tvOS is not available at launch but coming soon”. This is after many users reported that the ad-supported tier is not working on tvOS on AppleTV and Apple TV 4K.

Worry not though as a Netflix rep has confirmed that a fix is currently in the works. However, Netflix didn’t clarify why it’s not working on AppleTV since its launch.

The ad-supported tier is not currently available in Malaya and Netflix has yet to reveal when it will be coming to our shores. So, what do you guys think of the whole situation? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave for more trending tech news!
