With AI all the rage these days, Netflix announced a couple of plans to refresh the user viewing experience. This includes integrating Generative AI into the search engine on the Netflix app. On top of that, a new user interface for Netflix on the TV will be coming as well.

But first, regarding the Generative AI-powered search engine. Netflix announced that it is expanding its mobile experience with a series of new features designed to make content discovery more intuitive, personalised, and engaging for users on the go. It is currently available as a beta program for iOS users as a new tool to use natural language to find content.

For example, a user can try typing “I want something funny and upbeat”, and then the AI will streamline the search for suitable shows and movies that match the description. Moreover, Netflix will also roll out a vertical video feed as a way to offer a more dynamic and immersive way to browse content. It will showcase clips from various Netflix shows and films, letting users tap to play instantly, save to their 'My List', or share with friends and family.

Lastly, Netflix has revealed a revamped TV interface aimed at delivering a more intuitive, streamlined, and personalised viewing experience. The redesigned interface is said to be more responsive to user behaviour and capable of amplifying standout moments from its original programming. Netflix users can expect the updated TV homepage to roll out gradually over the next few months.
