If your needs for audio recording is almost professional-level, and your built-in audio recorder in your phone is not up to par, Phillips just announced something that may be up your alley. The SpeechAir by Philips brings professional-grade audio recording, with the power of the Android ecosystem to the table.

What makes this device stand out from the others is the inclusion of three pro-grade microphones that give it the best audio recording capabilities when needed. There’s a 360-degree mic for meetings, a directional mic for one-to-one interviews, and even a MEMS mic designed for VOIP calls.

Inside, you get a 4-inch 480×800 screen, 1.6GHz Dual Core Cortex-A9 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a 5MP camera and a 2700 mAh battery. This is a handy tool for journalists on the road.

It runs Android 4.4.2 and it is protected by AES, 256-bit, real time encryption for your data security. The SpeechAir is also antimicrobial, rugged and protected with Gorilla Glass. Two different models will be available – the PSP1100 is the unit alone, while the PSP1200 comes with the charging dock and the SpeechExec Pro Dictate workflow software. No Malaysia release dates or prices yet for this device but we can be sure that it will not be in the mid-range price.
