Reports published recently have shown signs that the next versions of the Apple iPad (in this case Apple iPad 5) and Apple iPad mini (Apple iPad mini 2) may be coming soon. As usual the report comes from the parts and supply chain and indicates that the new 9.7-inch Apple iPad may be introduced in September. Parts suppliers are ready for production with no expected changes to existing specs. However, this isn't what is being said about the next Apple iPad mini.
According to the report, the next Apple iPad mini may use a Retina display with 264ppi, matching it up with that of the Apple iPad 4. The next Apple iPad mini is also expected to offer a larger viewing area due to thinner bezels. Battery life is also reportedly better due to a decrease in LED tubes. However, due to the shortage of Retina screens, if the next Apple iPad mini should get such a screen, we could expect it to arrive by the end of the year.
