Just yesterday, Canon Marketing Malaysia has announced two new digital compact cameras which are the PowerShot G5 X Mark II, PowerShot G7 X Mark III, as well as its first entry-level RF24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM zoom lens (24mm-240mm, 10x zoom), they are scheduled to come into Malaysia soon. Although there is no official date and price yet, we got a handful of tech specs information so let's get started.

Continuing the series' focus on speed, quality and lightweight usage, the PowerShot G5 X Mark II and PowerShot G7 X Mark III are powered by Canon's DIGIC 8 Processor with a 1-inch stacked CMOS sensor, which allows the cameras to perform faster on autofocus and yet producing a better clear and crisp shot in most conditions. In addition to that, they are accompanied by a newly designed f/1.8- 2.8 lenses with 24-120mm focal range (5x zoom) and a 24-100mm focal range (4.2x zoom) respectively.

The pre-shot setting is also improved, as it can start shooting at 0.5 seconds before you press the shutter button. With that, it's capable of taking 30 shots per second in RAW burst mode and 20FPS in JPEG so taking fast moving objects isn't going to be a problem. Amazingly, they also managed to integrate a panoramic mode in the camera as well and of course, the cameras can capture 4K movies without cropping. It supports WiFi and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity too.

Then on to the new entry-level RF24-240mm f/4-6.3 IS USM zoom lens, it's Canon's first 10x optical high-magnification zoom lens with a 35mm full-frame compatible RF mount. From capturing landscapes to close-up shots, it only weighs 750g making it lightweight for its class when paired with a camera. It also features a Nano USM focus drive system, an Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Dynamic IS, this will allow the photographer to capture most of the shots needed even at night and low-light environments, as well as shooting a video without a gimbal.
