Yup, you read that right. This new Chrome web browser update can now offer New Password Protections and alert you if they have been compromised. Available for both Android and iOS platforms, here's how the new feature works on your smartphone.

If you want to check for any possible compromised passwords, the Chrome system will send you a list of your usernames and passwords to Google via a special encryption form. This allows Google to check the list of credentials if they are compromised, but the system won't be able to obtain any of your username or password while doing so. Should your password get compromised, Chrome will notify you and will take you directly to change your password immediately.

On the other hand, there are other improvements for both Android and iOS. For Android, Safe Browsing is enabled for desktop surfing against phishing, malware, and other suspicious sites. And finally for iOS, Password Filling is also improved by introducing a biometric authentication (Touch ID or Face ID, phone passcode too) before auto-filling passwords.
