For the longest time, Disney+ Hotstar hasn't been made available on several TV operating systems since launching in 2021. Besides Google TV, you can only watch Disney+ Hotstar on a web browser or mobile app but according to some Samsung TV owners, it seems that the streaming service platform has finally made its way on Samsung Tizen OS.
The availability of Disney+ Hotstar on Tizen OS was not only confirmed by one but a few members from this Disney+ Hotstar Malaysia Facebook group. From the threads, it seems that the update is rolling out and Samsung TV owners would need to get the latest update. Some users reported that it supports 4K HDR+ and Dolby Atmos, but not all seem to have it.
On top of that, there's a new Disney+ Hotstar mobile app update too whereby you can now add more profiles under one account, make parental controls and select ratings. The web browser version and Apple TV 4K are also taking effect and you can see a new Kids section too.
For your information, Disney+ Hotstar's fee in Malaysia is RM54.90 for three months and one account can only be shared between two devices at the same time but only for different shows or movies. For a monthly fee, it's just RM18.30 which is the cheapest when compared with other popular TV streaming services with the likes of Apple TV+, Netflix, Amazon Prime and others.
