As you are well aware by now, the movement control order (MCO) means that we spend more time doing things at home. This includes consuming media and doing our work from home, which both require fast Internet. In that sense, this new Maxis deal should be good news for you.

Starting today, Maxis will be offering all Maxis Fibre customers a WiFi 6 certified router. For those who are unaware, WiFi 6 routers have a maximum throughput of up to 9.6Gbps. With this router, you can enjoy faster home network speeds, wider WiFi signal coverage, and smoother file downloads or uploads. It's also great if you plan to stream 4K content from a Network Attached Storage (NAS).

New customers will need to sign up for a Maxis Fibre plan with a speed of at least 100Mbps to be eligible for the free router. Existing customers will also be able to upgrade to the new router. Maxis has confirmed that it will contact existing customers about getting the upgrade in different stages.

If you've felt that your WiFi speed at home is too slow, this could just be the upgrade you need. Having said that, what broadband service and router do you have at home? Do share your setup in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
