New OPPO A7 announced with Snapdragon 450 and different variants outside of China

OPPO has announced their latest smartphone, the OPPO A7, which is brother to the more powerful OPPO A7X. The smartphone is currently out in Malaysia and comes with the Snapdragon 450 SoC as well as a 4230mAh battery and a waterdrop notch display with a starting price of RM 999. You can grab this device at official retailers as well as Lazada and Shopee.

Tech specs on this device pretty is pretty solid. The smartphone comes with a 4GB RAM with a storage of 64GB that is expandable with the microSD card slot. Certain regions have different specs, the smartphone comes in a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. The OPPO A7 comes in two finishes for the back panels: glossy for China and a textured finish elsewhere. It weighs 168 grams and has a 6.2 inch IPS LCD screen. The main display sports the Corning Gorilla Glass with an 88.3 percent of screen to body ratio.

The camera for this device comes with a 13MP + 2MP rear dual camera setup which can capture capture studio quality portrait shots through AI beauty technology.  Video-wise, the OPPO A7 has HDR mode with 16MP wide angle lens in the selfie camera and also supports multi-frame image stabilization technology. To make things more fun, AR stickers are also supported. As expected, the ColorOS 5.2 based Android 8.1 Oreo OS is what the phone runs on which features the AI battery management for extending its battery performance. Besides that, the OPPO A7 supports dual SIM cards, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, USB OTG, microUSD 2.0, GPS and importantly, a 3.5mm headphone jack (hurray!).

China will have a choice of 3 different colours for the OPPO A7, which are Fresh Pink, Lake Light Green and And Amber Gold.
