Today, Qualcomm just announced two brand new Snapdragon chipsets - a mid-range Snapdragon 6 Gen and an entry-level Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset. Both of these chipsets are expected to be available in Q1 2023 and Q3 2022 respectively.

A quick rundown of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, it allows users to take 108MP photos and capture video with computational HDR via support for staggered HDR image sensors. This is a first for the Snapdragon 6-series thanks to the triple ISP technology from three cameras at once with gigapixel speeds. Moreover, it also delivers up to 35% quicker graphics rendering, up to 40% faster processing as well as HDR gaming at 60+ fps.

On the other hand, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 is the first 6nm 4 series platform that features up to 15% improved CPU and up to 10% enhanced GPU from the predecessor. Like the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1, this chipset also supports triple ISP so users can capture 108MP photos. Of course, both chipsets are capable of 5G connectivity.

We guess will be seeing more entry-level smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 by the end of 2022, followed by mid-range tier phones with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1.
