Just recently, Maxis has collaborated together with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and now all 13 UKM campuses nationwide have Maxis WiFi service for free. But aside from their campuses, some selected UKM buses are also equipped with free WiFi on board.

“UKM is very determined to produce a digital generation and now each employee and student is geared towards embracing the right ICT technologies in all activities such as research, teaching and learning as well as community and industry networks. This collaboration with Maxis certainly plays a key role in enhancing UKM's desire through engagement in the six areas of UKM's KRA to mold the new Malaysian generation in the digital era, said Prof Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Noor Azlan Ghazali, Vice Chancellor, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Shanti Jusnita Johari, Maxis’ Head of Enterprise Product said, “We are happy to be given this opportunity to collaborate with UKM and we feel that we are the right partner as we ourselves are going through digitalisation. At Maxis, we recognise that education is a critical sector where access to communications and advanced technology can play a vital role in driving excellence. By providing connectivity to the campus community, we are helping students and faculty members stay connected wherever they may be.”

On top of that, the collaboration will further develop initiatives such as having internship opportunities with Maxis, student entrepreneurship programmes, leadership talks by senior management of Maxis, among others. Stay tuned for more Maxis news at TechNave.com.
