While the Apple WWDC 2022 is getting the spotlight for this week, Penang is also working on something great. Just recently, the Penang City Council introduced a new e-motorcycle charging station and there are a couple of them around. They are also free to use for electric-powered motorcycles.

Currently, there are three charging stations in Penang that offers free electric charging. One is in Astaka Persiaran Gurney, followed by Medan Renong Food Complex in Padang Kota Lama and Astaka Batu Lanchang. There will be six more e-motorcycle charging stations coming up soon at 1st Avenue Complex, MBPP Lebuh Pantai Complex, Desiran Tanjung Complex (Tanjong Tokong), Sri Selera Bayan Baru Complex, Bukit Jambul Complex and Bukit Gedung Food.

For your information, each electric charging station has two parking lots for electrical motorcyclists. YBhg. Dato 'Ar. Yew Tung Seang, Mayor of the Penang City Council also told the reporters that he is confident that this new technology will increase the usage of electric vehicles and preserve the environment. Since 2015, the Penang City Council also adopted 10 electric-powered motorcycles through the Enforcement Department.

The Penang City Council is on a goal toward its "zero-emission mobility" which is in line with Penang2030 vision. It's nice seeing a state taking action for the better of the environment as well as being technological at the same time. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
