At CES 2022, AMD revealed its new AMD Ryzen 6000 mobile series for gaming and content creation. Brands like Razer, Acer, ASUS ROG, and more already have products in the pipeline. Some of these laptops have become available, and now AMD has officially launched its new chips.

As previously announced, the AMD Ryzen 6000 mobile series would be the first AMD laptop APUs to feature RDNA 2 integrated GPUs. Specifically, the Ryzen 5 6600H/U come with the Radeon 660M iGPU, while the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 9 APUs are all equipped with the Radeon 680M iGPU. According to AMD's charts, the new Ryzen 6000 mobile processors would allow AMD laptops to outperform their 11th-Gen Intel counterparts.

Allegedly, the Ryzen 6000 U series chips can push its base clock speeds up to 40% more despite being 15W chips. The results are a 17% increase in overall performance. They also deliver 81% more FPS in games and 3 more hours of battery life. Some of these numbers are achieved on low graphics settings, so don't expect these laptops to run AAA games at max settings and consistent 60FPS.

Regardless, it seems that even ultraportable AMD laptops in 2022 could be suitable for gaming. Having said that, is gaming capability and ultra-portability important for you? Discuss your preferences in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for the launch report of these laptops.
