Reputable tipster regarding everything Apple-related products, Ming-Chi Kuo yesterday took to Twitter to make predictions regarding an alleged new 15-inch notebook by the tech giant. Currently, Apple is only offering a 13-inch, 14-inch and 16-inch sizes MacBooks, all of which runs an iteration of the M1 SoC.
Well, that may change soon as Kuo claimed that Apple will be mass-producing a 15-inch Mac notebook in the fourth quarter of 2023. Previous rumours have pointed for this new 15-inch MacBook to be a larger-screened version of the MacBook Air which Kuo agreed with to a certain extent.
The tipster said that Apple’s design goal for the new Mac notebook is indeed similar to the MacBook Air, whereby it uses the same 30W power adapter and consumes less energy. However, Kuo claimed that the new notebook will not have the ‘MacBook Air’ name.
While Kuo didn’t give out any new names for the upcoming 15-inch notebook, Apple have in the past release a ‘MacBook Air’ like device and just called it the ‘MacBook’. The last ‘MacBook’ was a 12-inch notebook which has since been discontinued in 2019.
Who knows, maybe that naming scheme would make a return? Well, it is better than calling the new notebook the ‘MacBook Air Max’. :P
