It's been four years since the Nintendo Switch was released, and it was only last year that we got to see the Switch Lite. With that said, the Switch Pro version has always been in the talks but nowhere to be seen. That could change though, according to a news report from Taiwan.

Even though Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa did say there are no plans to launch a new Nintendo Switch this year, but speculations are pointing for a 2021 release thanks to the leaked screenshot below. Rumours have it that the Pro should have better display resolution and to be "more interactive". Could that mean an advanced or better version motion control? After all, there are games like Just Dance 2020 and Ring Fit Adventure that requires it.

To back that up, The Wall Street Journal did mention that Nintendo was working on two Switch versions back in 2019 with one of them being the Lite variant. During the pandemic period, we saw a rise of console demands and Nintendo kept running out of item stocks for the Switch. With the coming arrival of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, it makes sense to have a Pro variant to challenge these consoles from a business point of view.

There are already numerous reports of a Switch Pro version but as for now, perhaps it's best to take it with a pinch of salt. But would you want a pro version? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more trending gadget news at TechNave.com.
