We have talked a few times before about a potential Netflix with ads package, but now there are new leaks about the monthly fee. According to sources, Netflix with ads could also cost between $7 and $9 per month which is roughly around ~RM31 to ~RM40.

It may not look that much different from our local currency since the basic package is RM35 per month. Moreover, the leak also said that Netflix with ads could be released by the end of the year and the company may roll out it to more countries in 2023. Besides that, we also reported before that Netflix with ads could support 480p and online viewing only.

Speaking of ads, Netflix could only show four minutes of ads every hour. The ads also may not appear at the end of the movie or TV series. If possible, Netflix would also like to avoid showing the same few repetitive ads to the audience so that they won't get too many complaints. No ads may not also appear on original Netflix movies and children's content.

During the first quarter of 2022, Netflix said in its financial report that for the first time ever, the company has lost almost a million subscribers and may foresee a decline in the coming months. Netflix argued that it was due to password-sharing amongst friends and family but we highly doubt that because it has been going on for years since the platform was introduced.

At the moment, Netflix has denied its ads package and said it's all just speculation. With this, we think it's best to take a pinch of salt but the consistency of the leaks is hard to ignore. It's still too early to see where this is going so until then, stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
