Last year, WhatsApp tested a voice-to-text message transcription feature for iOS. This feature is still limited to beta users only. However, TheSPAndroid found the same feature code for Android devices as well.

For your information, there are some new details for this feature to discover. Firstly, you will need to download 150MB of additional data. These two features can be turned on and off. Interestingly, WhatsApp is also seen to use the voice recognition system built into the user's device for encrypted transcription.

Last year , WABetaInfo reported that the transcript only supports the same language set for the application. So, the text may not be generated if the words spoken in the voice message are not clear. This feature is still in development and it may arrive in the near future. So, it will be interesting to see how Malaysians will use this feature.
