The vivo X300 series is expected to launch in October. As the premium flagship camera phone series for the company, the vivo X300 will sport an upgraded periscope camera. While the details haven't been fully confirmed, vivo claims the phone won't look thick as a result of it.
A sneak peek
Earlier today, a teaser of the vivo X300 was uploaded by vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao. The photo reveals the right side of the phone and a glimpse of the camera bump, which is relatively slim despite the inclusion of a periscope camera. It also has a smooth and flat side with what seems to be a matte finish. Even if it's just a teaser, you can tell that the phone is going to look good.
But for context, a periscope camera requires more space inside a phone (due to its mechanical design). This typically results in a bulkier camera bump that may not look good aesthetically. According to Han Boxiao, the vivo X300 series is the largest investment in design in vivo's history. That must be how the company managed to fit a powerful periscope camera without making the phone too thick.
Other camera upgrades?
Are there other cameras that will see an upgrade from the vivo X200 series? While unconfirmed, it's reported that Sony's new 200MP IMX90E camera sensor is launching soon, and it may or may not be included in the vivo X300 Ultra. However, this sensor is unlikely to be available in the standard or Pro models.
Overall, we can expect to see big upgrades in camera specs. What other upgrades would you like to see from the vivo X300 series? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
