Samsung Electronics Takes Top Spot in Asia for Seven Years Running

Curious what has been going on these past few days? First up, for the seventh year in a row for Samsung, the company has once again been named the best brand in Asia in 2018. The results from ‘Asia’s Top 1000 Brands’ annual online survey conducted by Campaign Asia-Pacific in collaboration with Nielsen, which aggregates views from across 17 major product categories including automotive, retail, F&B and consumer electronics.

“Samsung is extremely honored to be receiving this award once again – the award is an indicator of our consumers’ support towards us and the products and services that we offer. As we continue to grow as a brand, Samsung remains committed to continuously innovating towards creating new possibilities and experiences for our consumers through our products and services,” said Steve Lee, President and CEO of Samsung Electronics Southeast Asia & Oceania.

Stop Cyberbullying Day with Digi

Meanwhile, Digi has just initiated a Digi Yellow Heart. This program is in conjunction with Stop Cyberbullying Day on 15 June 2018, in mind to help reduce inequalities and support the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal #10.

Avoid a “Raya” on the “Jalan Raya” with Waze

Based on Waze’s road traffic data, it is predicted that Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, Kuala Lumpur, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak and Terengganu will be seeing an increase in traffic jams from 12 June - 20 June 2018. To check out the areas of your destination, you can check out Batu Pahat - Johor, Johor Bahru - Johor, Kuala Muda - Kedah, Kota Bharu - Kelantan, Kuala Lumpur, Central Melaka, Kuantan - Pahang, Kota Kinabalu - Sabah, Kuching - Sarawak, and Kuala Terengganu - Terengganu.

By the way, Waze is also rolling out a "Share with Dad" feature. You can now do a voice customization so just head over to Advanced Settings > Sound & Voice > Voice Directions. There's also "Planned Drives" for your calendar, and "Gas Stations" your father's preferred petrol type and station.

For 14 years in a row, Celcom Axiata Berhad has once again celebrated Ramadan together with the members of Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department Kuala Lumpur (JSPT KL) and the police officers who were on duty around Jalan Esfahan, Kuala Lumpur on 8 June 2018. As usual, they were treated with bubur lambuk goodie bags and celebrated Buka Puasa, prepared by Celcom employees with the assistance of Tun H.S. Lee Traffic Police Station personnel.

The distribution parade comprising senior officials from PDRM were CP Datuk Seri Hj. Mazlan bin Lazim, Chief Police Kuala Lumpur and DCP Dato’ Zainuddin bin Yaacob, Deputy Chief Police Kuala Lumpur, and ACP Zulkefly bin Yahaya, Head of Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department. They were accompanied by Celcom’s senior management team which included Azmi Ujang, Chief Human Capital Officer, Ramanathan Sathiamutty, Chief Transformation Officer, Zuraida Jamaluddin, Chief Corporate Officer, and Surinderdeep Singh, Head of Enterprise Business & Solutions.

VR Benchmark is now available on Android

Woah, a benchmark for VR? That's right, it's called VRMark benchmark app and it's only available for Android devices. Don't worry, the app can work with or without a VR headset so you don't really need to get one. There's also a VRMark Professional Edition app, designed for industry and press use and this cost $499 (~RM1992).

Like all benchmarks, VRMark estimates the device's battery life for VR, along with detailed performance monitoring charts and an in-app list for ranking and comparing the latest devices. In addition, VRMark is compatible with ARM-based devices running Android 7.0 or later with at least 1GB of RAM that supports OpenGL ES 3.1 or OpenGL ES 3.0 with MSAA.
