Ever since the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform was announced last week, several Android brands quickly posted updates of what are the next flagships coming with that chipset. As for ASUS, the company just posted a teaser about it on its Weibo account.

In the Weibo post, there aren't many details but we do know that the next ROG device (presumably ROG Phone 8) will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The post also said "Stay tuned" but that hardly means anything if we are going to wait for next year.

If we follow ASUS' previous ROG Phone lineup launches, it would typically be released in somewhere the middle of the year, particularly in May or July. That being said, some tipsters have hinted that the launch could come earlier than expected. One fine example of this is the ROG Phone 5 which was launched back in March 2021.

In terms of rumoured tech specs, there isn't much information. But it's quite likely that the ROG Phone 8 may reach up to 16GB of RAM and we can also expect an Ultimate version like before. Overall, we should expect minimal upgrades if taking all the previous models' specifications over the years into account.
