Like it or hate it, Microsoft will continue to throw us Windows updates when we least want it. But today we're here to give you some early warning. Microsoft is starting to roll out the latest Windows 10 update and it's going to come with a few new features. Look out for it or your PC might restart when you don't expect it to!

According to the Microsoft blog post, the Windows 10 October 2020 update will come with a new look for the Start menu. In terms of the design, it's going to look more streamlined, the tiles will look more even, and it will support background transparency. You can also add colour accents to the Start menu, taskbar, and action center through the Windows settings.

The new update will also introduce a few features. For instance, you will be able to tweak the refresh rate for your monitor directly from the Windows settings, rather than your GPU's software. Moreover, notifications in the action center will now include the logos for the apps it comes from, so you can quickly see where it comes from. Microsoft Edge will have more integrations with the OS as well, allowing you to do things like pinning your favourite website to the taskbar.
