Can't get enough of Pokemon Go? Maybe another augmented reality (AR) game is just what you need. After Pokemon Go and Harry Potter Wizards Unite, Niantic is ready to dip its leg into another big franchise. This time, it's going to be a Transformers game.

According to TechCrunch, Niantic is collaborating with Hasbro, TOMY, and Very Very Spaceship to develop a new AR game based on Transformers. The game is called Transformers: Heavy Metal, where players are members of the "Guardian Network" and must work with Autobots to fight against the Decepticons. Pretty classic plotline there.

There isn't much info on it for now, but the game is being built on the same engine that powers Pokemon Go and Harry Potter Wizards Unite. In that case, we can expect a lot of core gameplay in Transformers: Heavy Metal to be similar to those two games. A beta version of the game will be made available in selected countries soon, with the global release scheduled for later this year.

While not as popular as games like Genshin Impact or PUBG Mobile, there are plenty of Pokemon Go fans in Malaysia. Since it's such a big franchise, a Transformers AR game could do well too.
